Armada PEGA 358 · 8′ × 4′ bed · up to 4mm steel · 1-2 week lead time

Laser cutting quotes don't add up for this type of work. And most shops won't take small batches.

If you need holes, slots or patterns punched into sheet metal — a laser cutter is expensive and slow for this kind of job. And the big CNC shops want high volumes they can run all day. We exist for the gap in between: small-to-medium batch work, done properly, without the runaround.

Three steps from enquiry to finished parts

1

Send your files

DXF, STEP or SolidWorks files are ideal. Got a physical sample? That works too. Just tell us what you need and how many.

2

We quote and book you in

We'll confirm whether the job is a fit for our machine, give you a price, and book your slot. Typical lead time is 1-2 weeks.

3

Drop off. Collect finished parts.

Bring your material to Halas Industrial Estate. We do the work. You collect finished parts. Most customers are local, if you're further afield, ask us about courier options.

"Sent the drawings over on Monday, had a price the next day and dropped off the material and collected in less than a week. Exactly what we needed. Easy to deal with, fair price, decent finish. We will be using again."

What we do well

  • Holes, slots, perforations and patterns
  • Rectangular and circular cut-outs
  • Nibbling and notching sections
  • Bending and forming (additional option)
  • Steps, brackets, guards, fixings, pegboards
  • Perforated and louvred panels
  • Small-to-medium batch runs

When to call us first

  • Complex curves or freeform profiles (laser cutting is usually better)
  • Specialist tooling requirements, possible for high-volume recurring orders, but we need to discuss it
  • Jobs requiring full design from scratch, bring your drawings or a sample

Who this service is built for

We work businesses that know what they need and just need to get it done.

  • You need 20-500 off a proper batch run, not one-offs or high-volume production
  • You have design files (DXF, STEP, SolidWorks) or a physical sample to work from
  • You can supply your own sheet metal or arrange collection of sourced material
  • You need holes, slots, perforations or cut-outs, not complex curves
  • You're based in or near the West Midlands, drop-off and collection is standard, courier by arrangement for further afield
  • You want it done properly, at a fair price, by people who do this every day

Straight answers

What file formats do you need?

DXF, STEP or SolidWorks files are ideal. We can also work from a physical sample in some cases. We don't offer a full drawing service as standard, come to us with your design ready.

What's the maximum sheet size and thickness?

Our machine takes up to 2000mm × 1270mm (roughly 8′ × 4′). We work comfortably up to 4mm and can go to 6mm on some jobs depending on the blank size and hole pattern.

Can you source material?

We prefer free issue, you supply the sheet metal and we do the work. We can source material in some cases but we'll require a deposit, and pricing is only valid for 24 hours.

How long does it take?

Typically 1-2 weeks from booking. A 50-off batch is often just a few hours of machine time, most of the lead time is scheduling your slot.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No strict minimum, but we're set up for batch runs of 20 and above. Under 20 off we'll still quote, it just depends on whether the numbers work for your job.

Why use a turret punch instead of laser cutting?

For designs with holes, slots, squares and circles, a turret punch is faster and more cost-effective than laser. Laser wins on complex curves and profiles. If your job is hole-heavy, we're usually the better call.

What does it typically cost?

Every job is different, but most batch runs of 20-100 off come in between £80 and £500 depending on material, thickness, hole complexity and quantity. The more you run, the better the unit cost. Send us your spec and we'll give you a straight price, usually same day.
